The Novel Tree plays a vital role in connecting cannabis users to local cannabis farmers and cannabis processors. About the role:

The Marketing & Design responsibilities include, but are not limited to: management of email campaigns and guest loyalty rewards program, creation of promotional and sale strategies with supporting analytics, promotional collaboration with partners, and oversight of sponsored events as designated. The Marketing & Design will also play a critical role in the creation of blog and video content - this will require some travel across Washington State to tour farms & operations, meet with partners, and visit industry events. You must be on top of industry trends while adapting to changing strategies as business needs require. An understanding of project management principles is necessary, as well as the ability to work within a multi-functioning job role.

The position reports directly to the CEO, but will work closely will all members of the leadership teams. Success in this role requires a growth hacking mindset to find innovative ways to drive outreach. We're looking for a balance of strategic thinker & creative designer. This unicorn needs to be awesome with graphic design, detail writing, copywriting, presenting, and public speaking. The ideal candidate thrives in social settings as role requires participation at various events and other industry functions throughout the year. Must be very comfortable interacting with the public. A passion for cannabis is necessary- cannabis knowledge is a plus. The ideal candidate will feel passionately about the mission statement and values.

  • Availability for weekend and evening commitments when needed

  • Knowledge of website management – specifically regarding content development and editing (SquareSpace, WordPress, basic HTML) is required

  • Two or more years’ experience in marketing, visual communication, digital media or a related field

  • Minimum of a two-year degree in marketing, with a graphic design related major

  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat and Microsoft PPT, Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premier an extra plus

  • Strong Typography skills

  • Experience with digital and print media management – specifically, best practices for strategy and implementation of graphic design, photo, video, social media and other projects as needed

  • Experience with executing a social media plan – specifically, best practices for strategy and implementation of Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Snapchat content
